I Checked TWO Things off of My Bucket List in One Day!

I remember when I was a child, one of my favorite things to do was writing bucket lists. I couldn’t wait to grow up, so I could go experience all of these extraordinary things in life. I sat in my room, dreaming of the day that I would be old enough to ride huge rollercoasters, visit museums, go to drive-ins, etc. Then, I blinked, & realized I was 21 years old, & hadn’t gone out of my way to fulfill most things that I once jotted down.

I think we are all a little guilty of just getting so caught up with life, that we sometimes forget the importance of consistently making our dreams priorities. We can’t just spend our whole lives wishful dreaming of things we want to experience, & never actually make an effort to do them. We have to go out, & actually live them! That’s not going to happen while we are sitting around staring at these little screens all day long. We can’t forget that we won’t always have the opportunities, or time,  to live our dreams.

I’m thankful to be reminded of this little life lesson, all thanks to Valerie from 2008. She’s the one that stashed her bucket list somewhere safe, a place that Valerie from 2018 could find. It was so nostalgic reading through my old words, & feeling the excitement all over again. It made my heart happy to see that some desires I once wrote down, had already been fulfilled. Things such as go on a road trip, cliff jump, & carve my name into a tree.

However, I also noticed how many things that I still haven’t done. Zip line, go up in a hot air balloon, scuba dive in the ocean, etc. *sad face* It was time to start making the things I wanted to experience in life a priority. So, Zack & I decided to take a mini road trip to Six Flags Over Georgia, to fulfill something that I’ve always dreamed of doing; going to Six Flags, & being brave enough to ride the HUGE rollercoasters!!

I was surprised to end up checking another thing off of my bucket list within the same day; having my portrait drawn! I’ve just always been intrigued by how an artist would depict me, & truly seeing what I look like to the world. All in all, it was an amazing feeling to know that I was making my lifelong dreams into reality, & finally experiencing a few things that I’ve always wanted to. My heart was filled with nothing, but pure joy this day. I encourage everyone to do the same thing! Write down the things you have always wanted to experience, & take the initiative to see them through! We can’t spend our whole lives regretting that we never made the time.

Here is the vlog I made on the day I got to live out things on my bucket list!! Enjoy 🙂 Also, comment below things that you have on your bucket list!! I would love to hear!!

This is seriously so inspiring! Like just making the choice to head to Six Flags and ride a giant roller coaster is huge. I feel like people always talking about doing stuff like that, taking little trips and such, but never actually follow through! That’s what’s so inspiring about this! You guys actually followed through! Plus it sounds like an absolute blast!

Exactly!! It’s easy to talk about, & always assume that we have infinite time to do it – but to ACTUALLY take the initiative to do it is a-whole-nother story! Thank you for your comment! 🙂

I think any opportunity to go ins huge rollercoaster is a good one! Good job for ticking off some of your bucket list. Maybe I should think about writing one

You are young and you still have plenty of time, just never pass up the opportunity to mark something off your list. Even if it hard to schedule or your have to wake up early, it is all worth it.

Nice. I’m glad for you for checking off these things on your bucket list. I don’t have one, been thinking about it, but I don’t think I’m brave enough to do things I would put on the list. I don’t like rollercoasters, but good for you for conquering it. 🙂
